OCEAN ICE at TRICUSO and PROS4SORP Webinar series

Andrew Meijers presented the white paper that has emerged from the September OCEAN ICE/SOOS workshop on ice covered oceans at both the TRICUSO annual scientific meeting and the PROS4SORP international seminar series. The TRICUSO (an EU infrastructure project) meeting (Bergen, 13-15th January) focused on the delivery of a Southern Ocean observing system for air-sea carbon fluxes, and Andrew was presenting wider community plans for observations of the ice covered seas and wider Southern Ocean under the upcoming InSync and International Polar Year observing campaigns.   He also included the outcomes of the InSync science theme 1 (Southern Ocean circulation, heat, and carbon) white paper, as this aligns strongly with the conclusions of the OCEAN ICE/SOOS document in their regions of thematic overlap.

On 20th January, Andrew gave an expanded version of this talk as part of the Presenting Recent Ocean Science for the Southern Ocean Regional Panel (PROS4SORP) webinar series.

Both the OCEAN ICE/SOOS white paper and all InSync science theme white papers will be published soon by SCAR.
